Danger! Serious accident on the BAB 5: 82-year-old injured!

Hirschberg, Deutschland - On Friday afternoon there was a dramatic rear -end collision between a VW Golf and a caravan team on the BAB 5. The incident occurred between the Hirschberg and Ladenburg junctions around 2:30 p.m. The 82-year-old driver of the VW noticed too late that the caravan team had to slow down due to traffic and collided with him. The VW driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The impact caused a total damage of around 13,000 euros, and the VW Golf was no longer ready to drive and had to be towed. During the accident recording and the subsequent cleanup, the left lane had to be temporarily closed. The Hirschberg volunteer fire brigade was on site with 12 emergency services to support the measures.
