Kiel Week 2025: A sea of ​​music and sailing highlights awaits you!

The Kiel Week, one of the largest sailing sport events in the world and the largest festival festival in Northern Europe, is just around the corner. Between June 21 and 29, 2025, up to four million guests from all over the world are expected in Schleswig-Holstein. As the KN-ONLINE Central cultural highlight of the region, which combines sailing regattas and an extensive folk festival.

A characteristic of the Kiel Week is the varied musical entertainment, which is largely offered free of charge. The city of Kiel and various radio stations organize numerous concerts, and visitors can choose from a wide program on 16 stages. In 2024, for example, Stefanie Heinzmann will appear on June 28th, followed by Max Giesinger on June 30th, while Smudo from the Fantastischen Vier already gives a concert on June 15, 2025 on the Kiel Nordmarksportfeld.

In addition to the music, the exhibition "Reality Glitch" is presented in the CAP shopping center at Kiel Central Station, curated by Alessandro Rauschmann. Here visitors can admire works by artists from Berlin and Kiel, including an impressive pistol of frozen ink.

Among other things, the Kiel Week also offers an international market with culinary specialties from over 30 nations and is a festival for the whole family. The Kiel Week will take place from 22nd to June 30th in 2024. Over 3,000 sailors from more than 50 countries will take part in this event, with the highlight of the windjammer parade on June 29 with over 100 sailing ships. For the visit it is advisable to appear early, to be weatherproof and use public transport to escape the large crowds.

In preparation for the upcoming Kiel Week, a preliminary press conference will take place on June 16, 2025, which will be held in the Slowdown Bottsand Hotel & Spa, Baltic Sepromenade 30 in Wendtorf. Journalists are invited to obtain further information and details about the events and the course during the Kiel Week. In addition to the press conference, accredited press boats are available for journalists, with participation places being limited.

Special regulations apply to the participants of press boats, including a declaration of liability and a life jacket obligation. Registrations are required until 6 p.m. the previous day. There is also a press parking lot that is signposted for journalists, which, however, must be requested in advance for accreditation.
