Art Prize 2025: 11 masterpieces in the FBZ Bochum enthusiastically exhibited!
The research and treatment center for mental health (FBZ) in Bochum now opens up its highly expected exhibition on the FBZ Art Award 2025. This presentation, which has been running since the end of May 2023 and has been seen by July 29, 2025, shows eleven selected works of art that have made it to the shortlist of this important art prize. The award -winning art prize is endowed with 10,000 euros and aims to put the topic of "psyche, art and health" in the foreground.
A total of 232 artists from all over Europe applied for the award, which illustrates the lively interest in the competition. In a careful selection, the jury was looking for work that reflects a wide range of topics and materials. The exhibition not only includes the current participants, but also all works of art that have been awarded the FBZ Art Award in recent years. This offers visitors the opportunity to get an overview of the development and diversity of contemporary art in terms of mental health.
interactive exhibition experiences
Visitors are called to actively contribute to the exhibition. A special attraction is the sound and poem installation "to the sounds of sequana". Here the artist Héloïse Roueau bottles made of lifeguards turned into impressive "desired bells" that hang from the ceiling of the FBZ. This installation is reminiscent of the calls to help and symbolizes the human struggle against the elements and its fragility.
The award ceremony itself will take place on June 26, 2025 at 6 p.m. in the FBZ. Interested parties can take part in guided tours, which are possible by telephone on 0234 32 23169 and by email registration. The current information and opening times are available on the FBZ website.

The idea behind the FBZ Art Award is strongly linked to the aspect that the submitted works should not only be aesthetically appealing, but also have a direct connection to the mental health of visitors. Works of art that are submitted as part of this competition must be publicly accessible in the treatment center and can actually be used by patients. This approach combines creative forms of expression with therapeutic goals and creates an environment in which art and healing are linked.
A recent discussion on the role of art in prevention and treatment of mental illnesses is strengthened by the awareness of the FBZ Art Awards. In this context, the art forum also reports on the valuable influence of art on well -being and mental health. The Art Prize not only places the works of the artists into the spotlight, but also promotes dialogue on important social issues about psyche, art and health.
