Fairytale western slope festival in Gorbitz: fun for the whole family!

Gorbitz, Deutschland - On June 14, 2025, the eagerly awaited western slope festival will take place in Gorbitz. Organized by Astrid Hoffmann and Jürgen Czytrich, the festival offers a varied program with a budget of around 30,000 euros. It is celebrated on the height promenade between the Sachsenforum and Amalie-Dietrich-Platz from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Under this year's motto "fairytale", numerous activities, especially for children, are offered.

The highlights include creative craft stations, including the handicrafts of Aladin's miracle lamp and gilding hazelnuts. There is also a fairy tale course, a wheel of fortune, circus games, acrobatics as well as fairy tale radio games and trick films. Children can look forward to the Rapunzel climbing tower, a treasure hunt, rope pulling and a children's carousel. The EEC will offer unique kaleidoscopes, while a puppet show from the "cultivated wolf" at 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.

The West Hangfest in Gorbitz is designed as a family -friendly event and is supported by various institutions, including the city of Dresden and facility for children, youth, culture and education. The Gorbitz volunteer fire brigade is also actively involved in organizing the festival. The culinary offers are diverse and range from Teufelchen's pancakes to Buttjes Fischbrötchen to Cinderella's pea soup and teasing stick bread.

Musically, the festival is accompanied by the "addition of orchestra" and the "sheet metal avalanche", which create a good atmosphere. The aim of the event is to promote the positive image of Gorbitz and to show that the western district is also solemn and alive. The western slope festival therefore not only has the function of a festival, but also an important social component.
