Train traffic between Oschatz and Saxon Switzerland severely restricted!
From the end of May, travelers who want to drive from Oschatz to Saxon Switzerland can expect significant restrictions on train traffic. According to sächsische.de Bad Schandau from May 30th to June 10th can only be accessible in a track. During this time, numerous trains of the Dresden-Schöna S-Bahn from Pirna are replaced by buses that only hold in Königstein.
The trains concerned drive from the Dresden main station at the hour, with special exceptions for commuters and day trippers. On working days there is a half -hour clock from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. On weekends, the S-Bahn will also run every 30 minutes between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. It should be noted that on Saturdays a regional express from Leipzig to Schöna from Oschatz drives at 8.36 a.m.
special train connections and changes
For hiking friends, additional S-Bahn trains are also available that are used on Sundays and public holidays. These start at 9:38 a.m. and 10.14 a.m. at Dresden Central Station. From June 30th, due to lack of staff, a reduced timetable for the S-Bahn towards Elbeandstein Mountains will be implemented. This could affect travel planning for day trippers.
For travelers who are traveling by bike, there are public bicycle bus lines in Saxon and Bohemian Switzerland from March to November. The bus lines run on weekends and public holidays and offer space for up to 16 bicycles or e-bikes at the same time. Overnight guests with guest menu Mobil only require a special bike ticket that is available from the bus driver. The bicycle bus lines combine various tourist destinations, including lines 216, 217, 219, 242/246 and 245, which are ideal for excursions. Departure times usually start from Pirna ZOB to Bad Gottleuba at 8.45 a.m., and return journeys also take place at times.
prices and ticket offers
For day trips, the prices for day tickets are strategically calculated in order to enable uncomplicated use of bus and train. The validity ranges from the devaluation until 4 a.m. A normal ticket for a tariff zone (except Dresden) costs 7.80 euros, for two tariff zones 12.50 euros, with reduced tickets also available for seniors and students. Family groups can benefit from the family day ticket, which even includes up to four students by their 15th birthday.
Travelers should ask for registration for groups of five or more. The small group card also offers flexible opportunities for up to five people to travel together. This regulation could be of central importance for both day trips and for weekend trips. Further information can be found on the providers' websites: Sächsische Switzerland and vvo online .
