Annual festival in Freistatt: flea market, live music and moment of pleasure!

Freistatt, Niedersachsen, Deutschland - On the day of Christ, May 29, 2025, the traditional annual festival took place in Freistatt, Lower Saxony. The event, organized by Bethel in the north for many years, attracted numerous visitors with a varied program and a large flea market. The flea market feeder Jörg Starke from Minden started building his stand as early as 4:30 a.m., while other feeders set up their stands at 6:00 a.m. The official start of the festival was at 10:00 a.m. when the open-air service in the sensory garden under the direction of the pastor Andrea Wagner-Pinggéra started.

The service, musically framed by the trombone mission Bethel, the pianist Christina Fischer and the “Arrested Office Brothers” with Christina Wolf, offered the guests a contemplative start. With the ballad "What nobody dares" by Konstantin Wecker, the ceremony found a touching conclusion. Around 350 flea market stalls presented a variety of articles, and the organization team around René Jaworsky received positive feedback from the feeders.

diverse supporting program

The supporting program, which took place from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., offered a wealth of attractions and information stands. Visitors were able to find out more about social issues and support memberships among Bethel's employees. Other stands represented the school network, integration and homeless help as well as elderly help. The “Market of Possibilities” in front of the administration building provided information about differentiated offers, and animal -assisted pedagogy was presented in the sensory garden.

The musical entertainment was not neglected: In addition to the Big Band Berenbostel, the Berlin band "Beat’n’blow" also appeared to delight the guests. For the little ones there was a children's program with performances by "doll rocker" Matthias and Juggleur Yoolio Alwin Schindler.

treats for every taste

Numerous culinary offers provided for the physical well -being. The visitors could choose between pulled pork, burritos, game specialties, kebab, fish rolls, pizza, hot sausages, lard cake and ice cream. For those who wanted to escape the hustle and bustle, the "Café 67" of the homeless help offered a quiet break.

In addition, rides with the field railway were offered for the first time on short and long distance, which was particularly well received by families. Despite dark clouds that lasted until the end of the day, the mood among the visitors and organizers was positive. The mixture of flea market, information and entertainment proved to be a success factor for the festival.
