The dramatic scene occurred around 6:00 p.m. in the park between Kreuzstraße and the street Am Sparrenberg, where the 17-year-old was sitting on three benches with his friends. Suddenly, two unknown men approached the group and demanded money. When nobody reacted, one of the robbers hit the young person in the face and pulled a machete.

In a desperate attempt to protect himself, the victim published his wallet, but was slightly injured by the arm when the perpetrator struck the gun. After the brutal assault, the robbers fled east across the road on Sparrenberg. The 17-year-old then went to an ambulance on Bunnemannplatz to be treated.
