topic and focus

In his lecture, Egger will explore the transitions between thinking, language and perception. He emphasizes the poetic-philosophical dimension of his work, which includes both movement and self-reflection. These approaches that describe thinking as something unfortunate and self -supervision reflects a separate world of form that oscillates between the formula and the form. In his presentation, he addresses non -opposite, interlocking worlds that not only includes words but also forms without words, and discusses the central question of the question itself.

The event is opened by greetings from Prof. Dr. Günter M. Ziegler, the President of the Free University of Berlin, and Dr. Jonathan Landgrebe, the publisher of the Suhrkamp Verlag. The introduction to the topic is made by Prof. Dr. Jutta Müller-Tamm, an expertized scientist at the Institute for German and Dutch Philology at the Free University. This networking of science and literature is a central goal of this lecture series, which invites every two years of writers who are closely connected to Suhrkamp Verlag.

meaning of the event

The Siegfried Unseld lecture sees itself as a platform to promote the dialogue between literature, media and humanities. The exchange of ideas and perspectives on the aesthetic and social challenges of today is of particular importance. In this context, events like this play an important role in the link between theoretical approaches of literary studies and practical questions of contemporary literature.

In addition to the lecture, Egger plans to conduct a workshop discussion, which offers the participants the opportunity to gain deeper insights into his mindset and creative processes. All in all, the event promises not only literary, but also philosophically enriching.

For those interested, Freie Universität Berlin offers an excellent opportunity to deal with one of the most influential thinkers and writers of our time. Registration by June 16, 2025 is urgently needed to become part of this unique event.
