The University of the Saarland invites you to a number of public lectures in the summer semester that are accessible to everyone interested. The current dates can be found in the university's event calendar. On June 9th at 8:00 p.m., Armin Petras will give the third lecture by the Poetics Docency for Drama in the Saarland State Theater. His topic "explained 45 literary sciences" is related to a theater text about Napoleon Bonaparte and his world. Admission to this event is free.
The following day, June 10th, three lectures are on the plan. Professor Bastian Popp deals with "sustainability in the trade and its role in the circular economy" in the chemical listening room building in the chemical listening room building. In addition, Thilini Ranasinghe speaks at 6:15 p.m. about "Human Robot Collaboration for Socialy Responsible Manufacturing and Logistics" in the Audimax building. Another highlight of the month occurs on the same evening when the “Science Slam: Science meets Art” occurs from 7:00 p.m. in the Saarbrücken film house. Here Alumni present scientific topics in entertaining articles from the Study Foundation of the German People. Education for sustainability and youth engagement
A current seminar on the subject of "economy and sustainable development" dealt with the topic "Sustainability and I" as part of a poetry slam. The participants submitted texts that made various perspectives on the subject of sustainability. For example, Lisa addressed responsibility for the planet, while Josephin pointed to child labor in the fashion industry. The critical examination of personal consumer behavior was also addressed by several lecturers, such as by Tabea, who described the change to electromobility as future -proof.
The results of the Poetry Slam clearly show how important the topic of sustainability is for young people and reflect the potential of creative forms of expression to clarify and discuss environmental issues. Many participants called for joint action and demanded more awareness of sustainable decisions in everyday life.
The Environmental Federal Agency emphasizes that young people in particular should be actively involved in educational projects for sustainability. This active participation is crucial for a successful transformation of society towards more sustainability. It is important that children and adolescents are integrated into the planning and methodology of environmental education offers in order to increase the effectiveness and success of such initiatives.
