A dramatic accident occurred in Schermbeck yesterday afternoon when a vehicle raced backwards into a front garden and collided with a house wall. The impact was violent! The rear of the car dangled over a basement shaft and threatened to fall into it. To prevent worse things, the fire brigade alerted the Schermbeck and Altschermbeck fire trucks at 3:41 p.m.

The rescuers immediately got down to business! The passenger door was opened with a hydraulic rescue device and the trapped person could be freed quickly. Like a professional, the fire brigade pushed the accident vehicle back to the property border using a winch. After completing the rescue measures, the site was handed over to the police. A dangerous commitment, which thanks to the quick action of the fire brigade was mandatory!
