Honorable awards for fire heroes in the Soest district!

In the district of Soest, two firefighters were awarded the "Merit Cross of the Fire Brigade Association of Fire Brigades in the Soest district". Michael Kußmann from the Anröchte fire brigade and Heinrich Wilhelm Kroll from the Soest fire brigade received the honor for their outstanding merits in the fire brigade. District fire chief Thomas Wienecke presented the award during a delegate assembly.

Michael Kußmann has completed numerous training courses since he entered the Friederöchte fire brigade and has established himself as a specialist in flood protection. He was active in the flood events on the Elbe 2002 and 2013 and during the flood disaster in the Ahr Valley 2021 and has gained extensive experience in crisis management, also in corona pandemic. Heinrich Wilhelm "Heiwi" Kroll, a member of the Soest fire brigade for 50 years, has been an institution in the ABC risk defense area and has continued. He also took part in numerous performance competitions and is also celebrated as a freshly baked grandfather.
