on Saturday evening, May 24, 2025, there was a dangerous traffic accident in Neuwarendorf when a car collided with a train. The 56-year-old driver from Warendorf turned away from the B 64 around 9:25 p.m. when the consequent collision with the train, which took the opposite direction. Despite a hasty emergency braking of the 33-year-old train driver from Bielefeld, a collision was no longer to be prevented.

Fortunately, everyone involved, including passengers, remained unharmed. The Warendorfer car was hit at the rear and had to be towed. The amount of damage is estimated at around 2,100 euros. The police initiated an investigation against the driver of the car on suspicion of dangerous intervention in rail traffic. The train was able to continue its journey after the accident.
