TV Wetzgau: Second women's team celebrates championship and ascent!

The second women's team of TV Wetzgau won the national league championship on May 26, 2025 and thus secured the promotion to the association league. The decision was made during an exciting competition in Aspach, in which the team competed as leaders and showed an excellent performance in the Olympic order of the devices.

The performance on the jump was particularly outstanding, where the gymnasts scored an impressive 44.65 points. With a Tsukahara, Jana Niechenk contributed a rating of 11.9 points, while Rafaela Rosca and Tamina also contributed decisively to the total number of points.

The second women's team of TV Wetzgau was founded in 2016 and is designed as an introduction to the league company for gymnasts aged 12 and over. Your goal is to gain experience in order to finally get to the DTL regional league team. Since its foundation, the team has worked up to the district league via district leagues B and A and has been active there since 2019. In 2020 there was no competition due to the Covid 19 pandemic, but in 2021 the team was able to take 3rd place in the league competition.

The trainers Zorica Ofner and Daniela Nicolai accompanied the gymnasts throughout their development, with Edith Kornhaas also playing an important role as a trainer. This continuous support can be seen in the constant progress of the team in recent years.

In Germany, gymnastics is not only a popular sport, but also an important part of culture. The German Turner Association, which is the second largest sports association in Germany with 4.6 million members, looks back on a long tradition and offers a variety of sports opportunities. Especially since Friedrich Ludwig Jahn was founded in 1811, gymnastics has become more important and was established in 1896 as an Olympic discipline.
