Children in mortal danger: trains stop because of track runners!

On Pentecost weekend, the behavior of several children and adolescents caused dangerous situations on the railway tracks in Bielefeld. In the night of Friday, June 6th, three children entered the track area at Schillerstrasse level crossing. An attentive train driver of a freight train recognized the danger in good time, gave a warning signal and was able to take the vehicle to a standstill - a glimpse!

The federal police initiated an investigation in both incidents on suspicion of a dangerous intervention in rail traffic. A call to witnesses of these incidents started to report via the free service number 0800 6 888 000. The federal police urgently emphasizes the danger to life near the railway and warns for caution: railway tracks may only be crossed in designated areas and when the barriers are closed. Trains often come almost silently and have a long braking distance - an unsecured stay in the track area can have fatal consequences!
