On Sunday, the first Karls-Bang-Hotel was ceremoniously opened in Döbeln. The hotel is an emerging tourism project that has already been opened after two years of pre -laying. On the opening day, there were still work on the hotel site, including the plants of 50,000 plants, supported by 18 Polish harvesters. The utilization was around 50 percent, with complete occupancy expected from the coming weekend.

The hotel comprises 60 comfortable rooms and can accommodate up to 200 guests. The prices for the double rooms start at 102 euros per night, whereby children under the age of 4 can stay overnight. The Karls-Bang-Hotel is specifically geared towards families and has 60 family suites. An optional update for a fifth person in the room is also possible.

The opening of the hotel is a significant step in the positive development of tourism in Saxony. In 2019, the Free State recorded over 20.7 million guest accommodations, which is a new high. The district of Mittelachsen, in which the new hotel is located, was able to increase the arrivals by 1.8 percent.

attractions and future outlook

The hotel itself is said to become a new landmark of the city of Döbeln with an architecturally appealing design and is already clearly visible from the highway and the city center. The attractions include the mascot Karlchen, which is presented from 6,000 clamping modules in the foyer of the hotel. In addition, from June 28th, the new “LPG Rote Rüb” railway will bring guests to the adventure village for breakfast, and the first Karls summer theater starts.

A total of around 50 million euros flowed into the development of the adventure village and the new hotel. The Döbeln location is further upgraded by the Karls-Bang-Hotel and the associated attractions, which not only promotes tourism, but also creates new jobs. The hotel operations are run by a small team of around twelve employees, while around 250 full -time employees are employed at the entire location.
