Terrible accident on A44: 18 vehicles affected thanks to the burst tire!

A spectacular traffic accident occurred on Monday evening on Autobahn 44 near Volkmarsen when a burst tire led to a collision of 18 vehicles. The incident happened around 10:25 p.m. when the driver of a Polish saddle train was traveling towards Dortmund. Suddenly a tire burst on the left side of the trailer, and parts of it flew around, which not only damaged the semitrailer, but also another tire and a traffic jam box that contained tools and clamping belts.

The rubble lying around meant that a total of 15 cars, a van and a truck in the dark could no longer avoid and drove over the danger site. Some vehicles were so badly damaged that they were no longer ready to drive and had to be towed. The devastating consequences stopped the traffic in the direction of Dortmund until around 01:15 - a damage to around 40,000 euros was the sobering record of this unpleasant incident.
