Rapid duel in Düren: Police stops illegal car racing!

On Monday, June 9, 2025, the police in Düren watched two young men who organized an illegal car race on Valdersweg. Around 1:30 p.m. they parked their vehicles, including one without a license plate, in front of a supermarket. Despite the speed limit of 30 km/h and a speed measurement board that the drivers made aware of their speed, the duo ignores the rules.

The police quickly determined and identified a 20-year-old man from Eschweiler as a driver of one of the vehicles. When arrested, his driver's license, the car and its mobile phone were confiscated. He now has to answer for participation in an inadmissible motor vehicle race. The investigation into the second driver is still underway.
