Customs balance Düsseldorf 2024: 1.53 billion euros income and more!

The main customs office in Düsseldorf reports income of 1.53 billion euros for 2024, a decline compared to 2023 (1.67 billion euros). This year, 737 employees worked in the Düsseldorf customs offices Airport, North, Reisholz and Wuppertal. The customs revenues amounted to only 78.51 million euros (2023: 94.54 million euros), while import sales tax decreased to 0.89 billion euros (2023: 1.06 billion euros).

The customs offices have processed over 282,000 imports and almost 535,000 exports, plus more than 6,600 package shipments. 117 cases of fake goods were found and 213 were prevented from import due to a lack of product safety. Remarkable attacks this year included 682,416 cigarettes, 95 weapons and 382 cases of drug violations. In addition, the main customs office made 481 employer reviews to combat undeclared work, which led to a damage amount of 11.90 million euros, and the customs officers initiated over 2,100 criminal proceedings.
