On May 23, 2025, the federal police again carried out border controls on Autobahn 3 and on the cross -border trains. A 48-year-old Ukrainian was stopped when a coach from the Netherlands was checked. He could not show travel documents and turned out to be a criminal searched for. The Essen public prosecutor's office had issued an arrest warrant for intentional bodily harm. Since he was unable to pay the amount of 1,800 euros due, he was brought to the Kleve prison.

Also on Thursday evening, a 22-year-old Turk from the Netherlands was checked in ICE 129. He was also not without reason: the Stuttgart public prosecutor's office was looking for him with a ceremony for a violation of the Narcotics Act. The man is now presented to the judge at the Kleve district court.
