On Wednesday evening, June 4, 2025, a serious traffic accident occurred on the B229 between Reiten and Hachen, which hit the crew of an oncoming vehicle with full force. A 60-year-old driver and his 43-year-old passenger, both from Arnsberg, were involved in the accident.

The passenger suffered so serious injuries that the danger of life could not be excluded. A rescue helicopter immediately took her to a hospital. The driver was also seriously injured and now urgently needs medical care. The circumstances of the accident are currently still unclear, the police have started the investigation.
