Cologne Mayor opens Orgatec in Tokyo: An anniversary of the collaboration!
On Tuesday, the 20th anniversary of the Cologne Fair in Japan was celebrated in Tokyo with the opening of the "Orgatec Tokyo". The Mayor of Cologne Henriette Reker and Gerald Böse, the head of the Kölnmesse, were present to appreciate this special occasion. "Organic Tokyo" is an offshoot of the internationally renowned office furniture and equipment fair, which has been taking place in Cologne for over 70 years. For the first time, the 2005 fair was organized in Japan and has been an annual event since 2022. Visitors to this year's fair have the selection of more than 160 exhibitors who are represented in two large exhibition halls, which illustrates the high demand.
The organizers of the fair are enjoying a doubled number of visitors from 2022 to 2024, which now includes around 40,000 trade visitors. Long queues at the stands at the opening morning testify to the lively interest in the latest trends in the design of modern working worlds, especially with regard to the changes that the pandemic has brought with it for the job situation in Japan. The need for equipment for home office and co-working spaces has increased, which becomes clear in the current issue of the Orgatec Tokyo.
