Accident escape in the parking garage: 87-year-old leaves damage and flees!

In a dramatic incident in a parking garage in Körnerstrasse, an 87-year-old driver drove against a parked vehicle, a VW Amarok. The senior tried to park with his Toyota on Monday (May 26, 2025) at 2:15 p.m. and touched the amarok on the side. Witnesses who observed the accident informed the driver and then looked for a parking space.

When they returned later to examine the damage, the people involved were gone. They then alerted the police. The driver finally appeared on a police station around 5 p.m. and explained that he looked at the damage with his wife, but only noticed the damage to her own vehicle. He justified his escape by not thinking to inform the police because he was the only injured party. The police have now received a criminal complaint for traffic accident escape.
