Safe in road traffic: children are the focus of the police campaign

Eidinghausener Straße, 32584 Bad Oeynhausen, Deutschland - On Tuesday, the police in the Mühlenkreis took part in the important traffic safety campaign "Safe.mobil.leben". This year the focus was on the protection of children in road traffic under the motto "Children in view". In addition to reconnaissance campaigns, targeted vehicle controls and speed measurements were carried out, especially near primary schools in Bad Oeynhausen, where the learning traffic of the students was taken up.

The police officers and traffic specialists held 54 talks with parents who brought their children to school in the car and distributed “thankslets” for exemplary driving. However, some of the drivers were less considerate: a total of 112 violations were recorded near a daycare center at 946 speed measurements. This led to 19 administrative offenses and 93 caution. The campaign received a lot of positive feedback from the participants who were happy about the recognition of their secure driving style.
