Giro d'Italia 2025: stage 15 today - who gets the pink jersey?

Fiume Veneto, Italien - The Giro d’Italia 2025 is in full. The prestigious stage race, which lasts from May 9 to June 1, 2025, not only attracts the best drivers in the world, but is also a highlight in the cycling calendar. With over 20 stages around the coveted Maglia Rosa, the Giro promises exciting competitions and breathtaking landscapes. This Sunday, May 25th, the 15th stage from Fiume Veneto will be held to Asiago. The route has a distance of 219 kilometers and comprises 3900 meters of altitude, which makes it one of the more demanding sections. The TV transmission takes place from 11:15 a.m. on Eurosport 1.

The current overall ranking is led by Isaac del Toro from the UAE Team Emirates, which has a total time of 50:37:55 hours. In second place, Simon Yates from Team Visma / Lease A Bike with a gap of 1:20 minutes. Juan Ayuso, also from the UAE Team Emirates, took third place with a gap of 1:26 minutes.

The first stages of the Giro d’Italia 2025 started in Durrës, Albania, and were historical because it was the first edition that started outside of Italy. The tour comprises a total of 3,443.3 kilometers and 21 stages, which are designed for various geographical conditions and challenges. driver in focus

Among the 184 participants are also 10 German drivers. Marco Brenner and Georg Steinhauser stand out. Brenner, the reigning German road cyclist, drives in his master jersey and plans to concentrate on stages. He expressed that it was something special to contest a Grand tour in the master jersey and hopes for a good performance. His team Tudor, in which he has been driving since the beginning of 2024, also relies on Fabian Cancellara's expertise to optimally support Brenner.

Georg Steinhauser, 23 years old, also takes part in this prestigious competition. He already has success in the high mountains and is looking forward to stages in corrugated or mountainous terrain. Steinhauser hopes to go back to stages after having not fully tied to his shape.

The Giro d’Italia, which has been held annually since 1909, has meanwhile become an international event that attracts athletes from all over the world.
