Pentecost market in Lilienthal: food, music and art for the whole family!

On Whit Monday, June 9th, a diverse Pentecost market takes place around the St. Jürgen Church in Lilienthal, which is opened by the trombone choir at 10 a.m. with a musically accompanied service. According to Weser-Kurier starts at 11.30 a.m. Evening prayer at 6 p.m., which is framed by harp music.

The Pentecost market offers a wide range of culinary delights. In addition to vegetarian-oriental dishes, visitors can enjoy bratwurst, waffles, homemade cakes, cheese, wine, liqueurs and various spreads. In addition, guests can expect sales stands with flowers, plants, jewelry, decorative items, wool, candles and forging and woodwork.

A highlight of the market is the musical program, which includes several performances. From 11.30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. the duo charisma (clarinet and piano), followed by Tim Verbarg (piano and percussion) from 2 to 3:30 p.m. From 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Ignat Baier (guitar and vocals) and Henrik Köhler (classic guitar) perform. Also from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. the duo Pigalle (vocals and accordion) creates a mood before Eva Pressl plays harp music to the evening song at 6 p.m.

At 3 p.m. a church tour of Heinz-Hermann Schnaars is offered. For the little visitors there is a children's program with Sandberg, face painting and rocking on the fleet. The proceeds from the market benefit the renovation of the St. Jürgen Church.

practical information

The parking lot is 200 meters from the church and costs two euros. The traffic regulation is taken over by members of the St. Jürgen local fire brigade. In order to make it easier to arrive, it is recommended to get by bike. In addition, visitors are asked to bring their own dishes for the cake buffet, but this is not absolutely necessary.

In addition to the festivities in Lilienthal, a balloon glow, also known as the "Nightglow", will take place on Friday, June 13th. At this event, hot air balloons are illuminated with burner flames, whereby the balloons do not take off. A trip to Worms leads to the impressive Romanesque basilica, which was once a collegiate church of the Andreaskift. According to Worms the extraordinary history and the elaborate restoration work of the church are still of great importance for the city and its visitors.
