The young Arne Schetters, just 10 years old and from Türkheim in the Unterallgäu district, represents Germany at the Pokémon World Championship. Exciting competitions have been taking place since 5:30 p.m. local time (8:30 a.m. our time). Arne has made it into the hearts of Pokémon fans with his extraordinary talent and commitment. His impressive performance in local and international tournaments has earned him qualification for this prestigious competition. According to the official rankings of The Pokémon Company He is the best Pokémon trading card player in Germany under the age of 13.
In the world junior rankings, Arne occupies a remarkable 42nd place out of a total of 3,479 players. This shows that he has a strong standing not only in Germany but also internationally. In the coming days, thousands of fans are expected at the Anaheim Convention Center to watch the thrilling duels. In addition to the trading card game competitions, various Pokémon video games will also be presented - a real festival week for all Pokémon enthusiasts.
The challenges of the competitions
Arne is determined to make it to at least the second day of the competition. The excitement is huge because the prizes are just as impressive as the top performances of the participants. A total of over two million US dollars in prize money will be awarded, with the winner of the trading card game receiving a whopping $50,000 and the 32nd place winning a whopping $5,000.
