Burglars in the basement: neighbors raise the alarm in Birgel!

In the early morning hours of June 5, 2025, shortly after 4:15 a.m., the Düren police were called to break into a house on Bachstrasse in Birgel. Thanks to attentive residents who heard suspicious noises and immediately informed the police, a 28-year-old man from Düren was arrested in the heating cellar of the family home. The perpetrator had tried to hide behind an oil tank, but fell and could not free himself.

During the arrest, both thiefs and crime tools were secured. The burglar was brought to a nearby hospital for medical care. Unexplained people are asked to report on 02421 - 949 - 0 to provide possible information.
