Rahmede, Deutschland - On May 19, 2025, the concreting work on the new A45 Talbrücke Rahmede began. The aim is to release the A45 in 2025, as the Westphalia motorway announced. A working group consisting of the construction company Habau, MCE and Bickhardt Bau is responsible for the construction work. Two scarf wagons were used for the creation of the roadway, which pour the shape of the plate in about 24 meters long sections.
The concrete is directed to the formwork at the southern abutment via a mobile pipe system. After curing, the formwork is solved and the formwork truck moves on in the pilgrimage process. In order to meet static requirements, fields that are later concreted must be released temporarily. Particular attention is paid to the fact that the fresh concrete is reworked in order to obtain a smooth and crack -free surface. Special machines on the southern abutment are used and smooth the concrete surface over several hours.

Initially, a release date of Autobahn Westfalen was mentioned for spring 2026. The next public construction site management is planned for October 7, 2025.
The construction costs for the entire bridge are planned to 170 million euros. An important point in the contract is a bonus malus regulation that is supposed to create incentives for compliance with the schedule. Mayor Sebastian Wagemeyer has already said positively about the reliable planning, while Elfriede Sauerwein-Braksiek, director of the Westphalia motorway, praises the consortium for the optimal offer.
The background to the project
The construction project is part of an extensive program for modernizing the bridge infrastructure in Germany, where, according to the BMV bridges in the network of the federal highways. Many of these bridges date from the years between 1965 and 1985. The A45 Talbridge Rahmede is therefore one of the new construction projects that should take into account the increasing traffic requirements.
For the detailed planning of the building, up to 1,000 individual plans are created, while at the same time 70,000 tons of earth have to be removed. Official works on the bridge pillars have been announced for early 2024, whereby these are to be founded with bored piles.
The entire construction period of the new valley bridge Rahmede is less than three years, and traffic on the A45 is to roll over the new bridge by summer 2026.
