Road safety in Hanau: Police control schools sharply!
As part of the traffic safety campaign "Safe.Mobil.leben - Kinder in Blick", police officers carried out numerous checks in the service area of the Southeast Hesse police headquarters. The focus was particularly on the safety of school children. A checkpoint was set up in the Kastanienallee in Hanau, where 609 vehicles were checked over a period of five hours. The result: 22 drivers were on the road too quickly, five had not strapped or did not bother properly, two used their cell phone in an impregnance while driving, and another driver violated the helmet obligation.
Also reported is an incident on Autobahn 66: An unknown driver of a blue tractor-trailer braked strongly on Tuesday in the construction site area of the Gründau-Rothenbergen junction and thereby endangered other road users. Witnesses report that the tractor -trailer was slowed down to the standstill. The police are now looking for other witnesses who have more information about this dangerous maneuver. Another accident occurred on the highway when a bus pushed a brown Mitsubishi when changing lanes, which led to a collision with a traffic safety vehicle. The total damage amounts to around 2,600 euros.
