KGS Moordeich starts donation run: Together for good purposes!

Moordeich, Deutschland - On May 28, 2025, the KGS Moordeich organizes its fourth donation run, which is aimed at the students of born five to seven. Around 400 young participants will compete in two blocks, each consisting of four runs of 20 minutes, followed by a 20-minute break. This tradition has been continued since 2014 and aims to support various aid projects. The student representative has therefore gone a lot, and everyone is looking forward to the event that begins at 9 a.m. and ends with the award ceremony at 12 p.m. The first estimates indicate that participation and the total donation will skyrocket, since the record of donations was 14,086 euros in 2022.

The running route is 800 meters and was extended by 50 meters due to a construction site. The students successfully searched for sponsors in advance who either pay an amount or offer lump sums for each round. The organization of the donation run is supported by classes 8 and 10 of the high school, which are responsible, among other things, for the water bar, the route securing and counting the rounds. In addition, a cleaning column ensures that the area is left properly.

use of the donations

The donations from the run are distributed according to the criteria set out: 25% go to the Brinkumer Arche Noah animal shelter, 25% to Unicef and 50% to the support association of schools in Moordeich and Varrel. This not only supports local initiatives, but also international aid projects. Unicef reports that around 1.5 million children in Madagascar do not go to school and many cancel primarily primary school, often due to poor framework conditions. These donations help to build new and safe classrooms to sustainably improve the educational situation.

In addition, the revenues of the previous donation runs flowed to important projects such as the Löwenherz children's hospice and the care of refugee children in Stuhr. The student representative interviewed the student body to obtain an opinion on the use of the funds, which strengthens transparency and commitment to the projects.

When carrying out the event, the schools are well prepared. KGS ensures that there are sufficient paramedics on site in order to be able to react in the event of incidents. Students who do not actively take part in the run use the day for a hiking day or other excursions. The preparation for the event is also discussed in physical education.

a special experience for everyone

Participation in the donation run is open to everyone, even low -income families is not put pressure on. The students can search for their sponsors in the private environment and the donation processing takes place automatically after the run via Fundoo. Supporters receive an email with a link to simple donation processing. This ensures uncomplicated and clear communication between the students and their sponsors.

With the donation run of the KGS Moordeich, the students not only bundle their strength for a good cause, but also experience a day full of community and sporty use. Regardless of the financial contribution, this action promotes social cohesion and awareness of the necessary aid projects, both locally and global.
