On Saturday morning, two brutal attacks in the city center of Varel caused horror! An 85-year-old woman waited for a pedestrian traffic light when a man got on her bike and suddenly hit her in the face. Hard to believe! The same perpetrator continued his attack shortly afterwards against an 85-year-old man, again without warning. After the actions, the attacker fled towards the city center. Both victims suffered painful injuries. The police urgently ask for clues to the approximately 40-year-old, very large attacker.

In another alarming episode, an unattended residential building on the Kronenweg was the target of burglars on Pentecost Sunday. Thanks to an attentive resident, the police stepped in time and put two men who had entered the house. The perpetrators at the age of 37 and 39, both from Varel, were released after determining their personal details, but now have to answer for attempted severe theft. The police advise the population to always be vigilant!
