Surprise at Bares for Rares: Bronze figure achieves 920 euros!

Köln, Deutschland - In the popular ZDF show "Bares for Rares", Laura Broermann and Achilleas Georgallidis from Cologne presented an interesting family height: a bronze figure that Laura inherited from her stepfather. He had previously received the work of art from its aunt, but the character considered a possible representation by the family was identified by the expert Bianca Berding as such.

The background of the bronze figure is as fascinating as its history. It was designed in 1972 by the renowned artist Bele Bachem , which made a name for itself in Germany in the 1950s. This time was shaped by her commitment in various artistic areas, including stage sets and book illustrations. Laura and Achilleas hope for a sales price of at least 300 euros.

exceeded expectations

However, the expert for the figure was much higher - between 500 and 600 euros. The dealer Benjamin Leo was enthusiastic about the work of art and finally offered 920 euros, which the couple liked to accept. With this result, the two were more than satisfied.

Bele Bachem was born in Munich in 1916 and is considered one of the most important German artists of the 20th century. During her career, she not only worked on painting, but also on porcelain and stage sets. Her works are often undervalued today, and many of their magical-eurrealistic work fall under the radar of art lovers.

The impressive career of Bele Bachem

Bachem grew up in Düsseldorf and studied at the art academy in Berlin. Despite the challenges she experienced during National Socialism, including a ban on offer, she found ways to remain creative. Her first pictures were little miniatures that were characterized by love and cheerfulness. Their versatile skills not only included painting, but also the illustration of books and the design of film posters.

During her career, Bachem designed a variety of significant works and was one of the few surrealists in German literature illustration. Their most important publications include works such as "Droller Käuze" (1940) and "Old Chinese Love Stories" (1958). She was not only a talented artist, but also an inspiring teacher and was appreciated for her extraordinary contributions to the art scene.

Bele Bachem died in 2005, but left a rich legacy that will continue to be recognized in exhibitions and collections. Parts of their written estate are located in the German Kunstarchive in the Germanic National Museum in Nuremberg. The current review of Laura and Achilleas' family heirs once again shows how valuable and dynamic the legacy of Bele Bachem is.
