On the B 100 near Landsberg, vehicles were measured at a speed of 149 km/h instead of the permitted 70 km/h. The situation on the A 38 near Allstedt was even more alarming, where a driver was traveling at an incredible 205 km/h in a 120 km/h zone. Interior Minister Tamara Zieschang emphasized the importance of such measures: “Speeding is a main cause of serious traffic accidents.” During this operation, the police used modern measuring technology, including mobile speed measuring trailers, to effectively hold drivers accountable. This campaign was part of a Europe-wide initiative by the ROADPOL network, aimed at ensuring greater safety on the roads. Another inspection date in this context is already planned for October.
