Explosive arson in Warsleben: investigations underway!

Last week there were several security-related incidents in the Börde district that put the police on alert. A fire in a gazebo in Warsleben in particular made negative headlines. The fire on September 23, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. was probably caused by someone's negligent actions. When the police arrived, the fire department was already on site and extinguishing the flames.

Witnesses reported several bangs that were heard shortly before the fire. During the course of the investigation, blank firearms were found on a male suspect. The property damage is estimated to be in the mid four-digit range. Based on these events, an investigation into negligent arson) was initiated. The police are asking for information from witnesses who can contact the Börde police station on 03904/478-0.

Damage to property and theft

But it wasn't just the fire that concerned the officials. On the same day there was also a shoplifting in a drugstore in Haldensleben. A 16-year-old teenager stole cosmetic products worth over 260 euros. Thanks to the alarm being triggered and the quick reaction of an employee, the thief was caught and handed over to the police. The girl was also banned from entering the house for the next two years.

Speaking of property damage: In Oebisfelde, the officers were also faced with an unpleasant case. Unknown perpetrators put graffiti on the police station's field office around 4:24 p.m., causing property damage of around 500 euros. Here too, there is currently no information about the perpetrator. Interested witnesses can also contact the police at the telephone number listed.

Traffic checks show alarming figures

On September 23rd, the Börde police station also carried out a control day to increase traffic safety. With a total of 21 officers at 12 control locations, 45 speeding violations were detected, including a maximum speed of 94 km/h within built-up areas. Particularly worrying is the case of a 38-year-old female driver, against whom an investigation was initiated on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.

Arson is one of the crimes that pose a threat to the public and is regulated in several levels in German criminal law. The corresponding offenses, which are recorded in the Criminal Code (StGB), range from simple to serious arson, sometimes with high penalties. In 2021, over 17,000 cases of arson were reported across Germany, underlining the importance of preventive measures and education in this area. The clearance rate for cases at the time was 50%.

At a time when such incidents are commonplace, it is hoped that those involved will be held accountable and that the local community can enjoy greater safety and peace in the coming weeks.
