A big celebration is coming up in Groß Ammensleben! On June 21, 2025, not only the impressive local history of 1,060 years will be celebrated, but also four anniversaries that shape local cultural life. The table tennis club and the ecumenical church choir are each celebrating their 30th anniversary, while the shawm band of the volunteer fire department can already look back on an impressive 65 years. This festival will be a real highlight that you shouldn't miss People's voice reported.

The celebrations begin at 11 a.m. with a musical opening by the ecumenical church choir together with soloists. The organizers have put together a varied program for the lantern run, the dance performances by the running group and the small guard of the Gauseberg carnival club, as well as the entertainment with DJ Dirk from 7 p.m. In addition to the musical performances, there will also be numerous children's entertainment options, such as craft and fun activities as well as a target throwing activity with the fishing club and a fire department activity stand. The entire community is warmly invited!

Special features of the celebration

Another treat is the Kolping Family photo exhibition, which can be seen in the information center for adults. Physical well-being is also taken care of: various drinks and barbecue stalls, organized by local clubs, will pamper festival visitors. Monika Bednarz also invites you to the traditional coffee klatch with the washerwomen in a nostalgic atmosphere, which is sure to provide many wonderful memories. On Sunday, visitors can expect an ecumenical service at 10 a.m. in the Church of St. Peter & Paul as well as a cozy morning pint from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the domain, which forms the celebratory conclusion to the festival weekend.

This celebration can also be placed in the context of the cultural treasures of Saxony-Anhalt, where anniversaries play an important role. Culture Saxony-Anhalt highlights how such events help discover and keep alive the rich cultural heritage. This also includes the remarkable development of the Schalmeienkapelle, which was founded in 1960 and is now part of this celebratory anniversary. In her book “60 Years – Loud as Ever” Rüdiger Pfeiffer documented the history of this band and its significance for the music region of Saxony-Anhalt Staff leader.
