Big drug raid in Kroppenstedt: Indoor plantation with 300 plants!
In the last few days, several incidents have occurred in the Börde region that put the handling of cannabis in a different light. An impressive case concerns an indoor plantation discovered in Kroppenstedt, which impressively shows the dimensions of illegal cannabis production. Loud Magdeburg clicks The police were called to an operation on July 1, 2025 after receiving information about the cultivation of cannabis plants on the Street of Friendship. When officers arrived, they discovered a professional plantation with over 300 plants.
Interestingly, three men aged 23, 24 and 32 appeared on site and attempted to enter the apartment. However, a courageous attempt to evade responsibility ended with their temporary arrest. The investigation began immediately and there are indications that the plantation may be expanded into adjacent premises. These incidents not only shed light on the local drug trafficking structures, but also on the increasing use of cannabis among young people.
The statistics speak for themselves
A recently published 2022 study by Nationwide shows that 7.8% of young people in Germany between the ages of 12 and 17 have already used marijuana. Only 1.3% of this group consumes regularly. However, things look a little different among young adults between the ages of 18 and 25: here consumption is a whopping 34.8%, with 3.9% regularly using marijuana. Such numbers illustrate the increasing need for education and prevention.
Compared to the 1990s, there has been a worrying increase in official measures against illegal drug trafficking, and the cultivation of marijuana is still illegal in Germany. The trendy term “homegrow” is causing more and more people to try to grow cannabis themselves, which in turn is leading to an increase in illegal indoor plantations.
Combination of drugs and aggression
Overall, the decline in the false assumption that marijuana mainly comes to Germany from abroad and the increase in local cultivation has also increased awareness of the dangers and legal consequences. This is also reflected in the regulations surrounding the possession of THC-free marijuana seeds, which have been suspected of being used for illegal cultivation since 1998.
In these tense times, it is all the more important to know your rights and to seek legal advice at an early stage in the event of a dispute with the judiciary. Conversations about cannabis have certainly become an integral part of German society, but recent incidents show that a lot of educational work still needs to be done here. Dealing with drugs requires clear boundaries and informed citizens.
