Rock & Metal Day'z: Benefit festival for sick children in Oschersleben!
Things are rocking again in Oschersleben this year! The ninth charity festival “Rock & Metal Day’z” will take place from June 26th to 28th, 2025, and it promises to be a great success again. The festival organized by the association Made for kids is organized, has set itself the goal of collecting donations for needy children and their families. Last year an impressive 10,000 euros were raised.
The event is taking place for the first time this year at the “An denSieben Bergen” race track and is expecting around 1,000 musicians and fans from Germany, Switzerland and Austria. The atmosphere among visitors is familiar, and the positive feedback in recent years shows that a place has been created here where everyone feels comfortable.
Solemn preparations
A 20-person volunteer organizational team put the festival together in a very short space of time, namely one week. “This is not an easy undertaking, but we have a good knack for organizing this event,” said a member of the team. The association itself now has around 170 members, all of whom are passionate about helping sick children and young people in need.
At the start of the festival there will be a warm-up on May 3, 2025 in the club's clubhouse in Oschersleben. This event, which is accessible free of charge, will offer a preview of the coming days: In addition to video clips from last year, the program also includes live performances from the band PanDora and various games.
Not just a festival
However, the most important thing about “Rock & Metal Day’z” is supporting the best causes. All donations go to organizations that need it. Among other things, the parental home for children with cancer in Magdeburg is supported. In addition to the donation boxes that will be set up throughout the festival grounds, the continued importance of support from the Compressed Air e.V. pointed out. The Charity Unleashed Festival, which will take place on May 24, 2025, collects donations for the German Children's Hospice Services and shows how important these actions are.
A look into the future
Next year will be doubly celebratory for Rock & Metal Day’z and the club, as both the festival and the club will celebrate their milestone birthday from June 25th to 27th, 2026. “We are all blood brothers in this matter and it is important to us to continue to light a fire in charity work,” says a committed club member.
With over 20 bands, a loyal audience and committed helpers, nothing stands in the way of another successful festival. Let's hope that the willingness to donate among festival visitors will flourish again this year and that the children in need will receive their support!
