Zverev fails again: Djokovic catapults himself into the semi -finals!

In the quarter -finals of the French Open, Alexander Zverev had to take a bitter defeat. He lost 4: 6, 6: 3, 6: 2 and 6: 4 against Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic. This means that Zverev remains without a Grand Slam title after he was in the final of Roland-Garros last year. The duel took 3:17 hours, in which Djokovic needed five match balls to win. After a good start in the first sentence, however, Zverev showed a disappointing performance and did not manage to maintain his control over the game, which resulted in numerous simple mistakes. Zverev seemed lack of concentrated and had difficulty fighting while he showed little emotions during the game. Boris Becker also criticized these points, who noted that Zverev had to play against top players like Djokovic more aggressive.

With the defeat, Zverev misses the move into the semi -finals, where Djokovic now meets Jannik Sinner. Sinner, who is in the tournament due to his performance without loss of sets, currently has a balanced record of 4-4 against Djokovic in her direct duels. The Italian beat Alexander Budikrat 6: 1, 7: 5, 6: 0 in the quarterfinals. The semi-finals will take place on Friday, and Sinner shows a strong form after a three-month doping lock.

Djokovic: Another step towards the records

Novak Djokovic, at the age of 38 and number 6 on the seed list, has again proven its class. He has already reached 51 Grand Slam semi-finals in his career, making it the second oldest player who has come so far in Paris. The number of weeks at the top of the world rankings and most Grand Slam titles in the history of tennis speak for his extraordinary success.

Djokovics' achievements in the last encounters are remarkable. Despite its age, the Serb continues to show that it can compete with the best players in the world. In this match against Zverev, Djokovic took control after the first sentence and did not allow Zverev's initial success. His resilience and experience are clearly recognizable while he is preparing for the semi -finals against Sinner.

Zverev, on the other hand, is now planning to focus on the upcoming lawn tournaments in Stuttgart and Halle, with the aim of showing better performance at Wimbledon from June 30th. The pressure to finally win the first Grand Slam title remains for the 28th anniversary.
