Goldrausch and revenge: Brutal murder in the Harz shocked the village community!
Today's episode of the popular ARD crime series "Hard Brocken" takes the audience on an exciting journey into the past of the GDR and brings a mysterious gold treasure into play. The crime thriller entitled "An ice -cold perpetrator" is about the dramatic circumstances around a missing gold transport from the last days of the German Democratic Republic (GDR).
The focus of history is village police officer Frank Koops, who is being involved in a personal case when the disappearance of gold transport triggers a brutal crime series. The traces lead him to Inka Sassner, a former Stasi officer who is ready to risk everything to get the lost gold treasure back. Her vengeful campaign brings the daughter of a suspected soldier, Kim Lehnert, to the crossfire of the investigation. Constitutional protection officers such as Posnanski and Colonel Keil are also behind Inca, which makes the situation even more complicated. Koops must now decrypt the connections between the individual families, gold and the persistent violence.
background to the Stasi
This captivating action is not only fictional - it is based on true events that are deeply involved in the history of the GDR. The Stasi, officially known as the Ministry of State Security (MfS), was founded on February 8, 1950 and was responsible for surveillance and control of the GDR population for over 40 years. Under the leadership of the Soviet secret service KGB, it established itself as a central part of the security apparatus of the Socialist Unity Party in Germany (SED), which in turn ruled the GDR from 1949 to 1990.
The methods of the Stasi were feared because they included physical violence, arbitrary arrests and decomposition measures. In 1989, for example, around 91,000 people worked full -time for the Stasi, supported by up to 189,000 unofficial employees who acted as spying eyes and ears in the civilian population. The authority was militarily structured and had its own prisons and a guard regiment. Their goal was to classify different opinions as hostile to the state.
The end of the Stasi
The years of the rule of the SED and its secret police finally ended during the peaceful revolution in autumn 1989. On June 30, 1990, the MfS legally stopped working. Access to the Stasi documents was only opened by the occupation of the Stasi headquarters by civil rights activists who wanted to prevent further processing and possibly annihilation of the documents. Today, citizens can inspect the files that extend over more than 111 kilometers and contain millions of index cards.
The processing of this gloomy past is of great interest, and like Joachim Gauck, the first head of the authority for the Stasi documents, once said that the GDR was not considered a topic park, but as a long-lasting dictatorship that had a significant influence on people's lives. The crime series "Harter Brocken" takes up this legacy and tells the stories that are hidden in the dark - and in the latest episode it becomes clear that the shadows of the past still have an impact many years later.
with a strong line -up from Aljoscha Stadelmann, Moritz Führmann and Lina Wendel, as well as other talented actors, promises to become the episode, captivating and emotional. The spectators can be excited to see how the entanglements around the gold treasure and the former Stasi members develop.
