It gets colorful in Magdeburg: The facade of the “Children's Best” daycare center in Wiener Strasse is about to be transformed. The artist Max Grimm has taken on the exciting task to redesign the historical villa, which has been acting as a daycare since 2007. This villa was built in 1921 and was once a teacher training center. Now she should shine in full colors, inspired by rainbows and kindergarten drawings, such as Petra Prill, who has been head of the daycare since 1999, is planning to complete her work with a colorful surprise project that she wants to implement before retirement. The total costs of the redesign amount to around 50,000 euros, with almost the entire financing secured by generous donations by parents and supporters. A father even provides the scaffolding free of charge, while the caretaker takes care of the preparations.

The ambitious project comprises around 500 to 600 square meters of facade surface, which are to be processed bit by bit in the coming years. The first brush stroke is planned for September, but further donations are necessary in order to be able to cover the material costs. "We ask everyone who wants to support us for financial help, whereby donations are welcome at any amount," explains Prill. From an amount of 50 euros, the donors also receive a surprise - a screen printing of the house painted by the children of the daycare center, signed by Max Grimm.
In order to further advance the project, there is even the possibility to donate directly via a QR code or use the donation account of the Social Bank, for everyone who wants to support creative change with their contribution.
