Colorful wall design for Magdeburg daycare center – art project starting soon!

Things are getting colorful in Magdeburg: The facade of the “Kinderkasten” daycare center on Wiener Straße is about to undergo a creative transformation. The artist Max Grimm has taken on the exciting task of redesigning the historic villa, which has served as a daycare center since 2007. This villa was built in 1921 and was once a teacher training college. Now it should shine in all its colors, inspired by rainbows and kindergarten drawings, like People's voice reported.

Petra Prill, who has been head of the daycare center since 1999, plans to end her work with a colorful surprise project that she would like to implement before she retires. The total cost of the redesign is around 50,000 euros, with almost all of the funding secured through generous donations from parents and supporters. One father even provides the scaffolding free of charge while the caretaker takes care of the preparations.

A community project

The ambitious project covers around 500 to 600 square meters of facade area, which will be worked on piece by piece over the coming years. The first brush stroke is planned for September, but additional donations are needed to cover the material costs. “We ask everyone who wants to support us for financial help, with donations of any amount welcome,” explains Prill. For donations of 50 euros or more, donors will also receive a surprise - a screen print of the house painted by the children of the daycare center and signed by Max Grimm.

To further advance the project, there is even the option of donating directly via a QR code or using the social bank's donation account, for everyone who wants to support the creative change with their contribution. For further information, those interested can visit the website of the “Kinderkasten e.V.” Visit, where you can also find the details on financial aid, such as the website of Children's box reveals.

Promote art and education

The project is not only applauded locally, but also has the goal of making art and culture accessible to all children and young people. With its funding fund for art and culture, the Education Foundation has established that artistic education plays a defining role in daycare centers and schools. This approach is intended to promote personal growth, which will undoubtedly also support the creative talents of the children in the “Kinderkasten” daycare center, as the information from Education Foundation show.

In the end, the daycare center's redesigned façade could not only delight the little ones, but also the entire neighborhood. With creative projects like this, the municipality of Magdeburg shows that collaboration, creativity and commitment can make anything possible. It remains exciting to see how the first strokes of paint will transform the villa into a real eye-catcher!
