Drama on the Elbe: Yacht burns out - Danish couple in danger!
In the early morning hours of July 17, 2025 there was a spectacular ship fire at the Zollbrücke in Magdeburg. At around 5 a.m., passers -by first heard a loud bang, followed by strong smoke development that pulled across the Elbe. An approximately nine-meter-long sports boat, which belonged to the Danish spouses, had risen in flames after they could not reach their marina due to lack of space and torn them between the Editha and Zollbrücke.
The fire brigade moved out with a large contingent. A total of five fire trucks, a special emergency boat and several rescue vehicles whirled up to fight the flames.
