FCM sweeps Burger BC 08 11-0 in the first friendly of the season!

A furious start for 1. FC Magdeburg: In the first friendly match of the summer preparation, the team won an impressive 11-0 against Burger BC 08 on Wednesday evening. Almost 1,700 spectators gathered at the IHB Parkstadion in Burg to watch their team take their first steps into the new season. Referee Max Goroncy led the proceedings, which resulted in a clear half-time score of 3-0 for the FCM in the first half. Ahl-Holmström, Baars and Kaars scored the goals in the first 36 minutes.

In the second half, the team stepped up under the new leadership of head coach Markus Fiedler and gave the host no chance. A total of eight more goals ensured an impressive final score. Among the goal scorers were new stars such as Nollenberger, Mathisen, Atik and Meier, who scored twice.

Systematic preparation

If you take a look at the club's summer schedule, you'll see that the friendly against Burger BC 08 was just the starting signal. The FCM finished last season in a solid fifth place and then entered a well-deserved short summer break. On June 18, the team began training at Avnet Arena, accompanied by a lactate test and medical examinations. Fortunately, the first public training took place on June 23rd under the new coach.

The club has a lot planned for the coming weeks: After the first round of test matches, further challenges are on the agenda. On June 28th, the FCM will play against SV Dessau 05, followed by a training camp in Bad Wörishofen, where the players will train intensively from July 2nd to 10th.

Next dates

The first game of the new season, which will take place on August 1st to 3rd, will be particularly exciting, as will the first round of the DFB Cup against 1. FC Saarbrücken, which will take place on August 15th to 18th. Fans can be curious to see whether the team can carry their strong form from pre-season into the coming season.
