The exciting stage race covers a total of 741 kilometers and is divided into five days full of exciting competitions. The route winds from Essen via Herford to Arnsberg, Kassel and finally ends in Magdeburg.
Eleven first-class teams from the World Tour, including the well-known Lidl - Trek team, as well as five pro teams will be at the start and face various challenges. The first race opens with a prologue, which is particularly suitable for time trial specialists and sprinters. It becomes more challenging for the riders every day, as the difficulty increases with each passing day, while the stages also offer altitude differences of up to 1,000 meters. The penultimate stage is rated as particularly crucial before the tour culminates in an ultimate finale in Saxony-Anhalt.
New hosts and an exciting route
The route through the federal states of North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse and Saxony-Anhalt brings a breath of fresh air to the event, as the cities of Herford, Halle (Saale) and Magdeburg have joined the host group. Essen, Arnsberg and Kassel were already part of the tour in 2023, and Magdeburg will continue the tradition of hosting the final stage in a German state capital, as deutschland-tour.com reports.
The highlight is certainly the final on August 24, 2025 in Magdeburg, where main sponsor Lidl is giving away two VIP tickets worth 250 euros each.
