R!SE Festival in Magdeburg: Younger people in solidarity for the future!

In a few days an exciting adventure will begin for the IG Metall Jugend. This year's IG Metall youth festival R!SE will take place from July 3rd to 6th, 2025 in the Elbarenpark in Magdeburg. With the motto “R!SE for solidarity, R!SE for future, R!SE against racism”, the event sends a strong signal for community, environmental awareness and against discrimination. Participants can expect entertaining workshops, inspiring music and many opportunities for exchange.

Let's take a look at the varied program: Festival visitors can expect not only live performances by well-known artists such as Tream, Hinterlandgang, Dilla, MandelKokainSchnaps and Querbeat, but also workshops on important topics. The focus of the workshops includes the quality and securing of training places as well as transformation and dual study. In the fun area, young people can relax and enjoy their leisure activities. igmetall-bbs.de reports that it is also possible to cover travel costs for the participants - great support to make the journey uncomplicated.

Ticket prices and participants

Participation in this event costs 30 euros per person. This rate includes a free breakfast and one additional meal per day. It is important that the tickets are available exclusively for IG Metall members. The festival will be attended by IG Metall Jugend from Berlin, Brandenburg and Saxony, and the first registrations have already been received. The R!SE Festival has everything it takes to be a complete success.

The festival took place last year, from July 13th to 16th, 2023, with over 1,500 participants. At that time, the focus was on the topics of training, climate change and social participation. In particular, the difficult situation on the training market was discussed. According to the 2023 vocational training report, 2.6 million people between the ages of 19 and 35 in Germany do not have a vocational qualification. The current event, on the other hand, aims to offer school leavers the support they need to secure their professional future. Küsten-IG-Metall adds that the festival is a valuable space for discussions and workshops, which also cover topics such as discrimination and the effects of artificial intelligence.

The call to action

Particularly in view of the current political situation, where the issue of racism and right-wing terror has increasingly come into focus, the commitment of the IG Metall Youth is more important than ever. Actions against right-wing parties, especially with a view to the AfD's federal party conference in Magdeburg at the end of July, are also part of the agenda. These measures show that the festival not only offers a platform for entertainment, but also functions as an important forum for critical social issues.

The R!SE Festival will therefore be an excellent opportunity to discuss questions about the future of education and the role of youth in society. Participants can look forward to a great event!
