The popularity of pedelecs- bicycles with muscle power and electric motor- grows rapidly, especially in older people who can now easily manage longer distances. But this increase in mobility carries risks: the number of pedelec accidents increases. Sven Busse, prevention expert of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Criminal Police Office, warns that the increased speed of the pedelecs presents many road users with challenges.

In order to offer the senior citizens valuable security information, the LKA will organize an informative website with the title "Mobile with the bike/pedelec in old age - but safe" on June 10th. Practical tips should be conveyed here so that older cyclists get to the goal without an accident. Registrations for the event are already possible.
