Rescue sports in Germany and international competitions

Rescue sports in Germany have not only developed as a competitive sport, but also as an important element of water rescue. As can be read on DLRG, World Lifesaving Championships take place every two years, with exciting competitions in both open water and the pool. At the last World Cup in Birmingham in 2022, Germany was the most successful nation, which underlines its success in international comparison.

Rescue sports include various disciplines such as puppet rescue, obstacle swimming and fin rescue. The next big challenge comes in 2025 with the competitions in Chengdu, where athletes will compete in several individual and relay events. It is a warm invitation to experience the athletes' impressive achievements up close and to share the passion for this important sport, as Team Germany shows.

Overall, the 52nd German All-Around Championships were a successful event that not only showcased the talents of rescue sports in Germany, but also celebrated the festive nature of the competition. We are already looking forward to the next competitions and the stories that come with them.
