The hour for discussions on explosive topics has arrived in Halle! On July 3, 2025, the 3rd European Forum of the Europa-Union Halle-Saalekreis e.V. will take place in the Literaturhaus Halle in cooperation with EuropeDirect Hall instead of. It starts with a champagne reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by the panel discussion on the topic “The European dimension of the future center”. Afterwards, visitors can expect a buffet to promote exchange.
The event will be moderated by Mr. Christian Scharf and promises top-class contributions. Among those confirmed are Cornelia Pieper, the Consul General of Germany in Danzig, Dr. Alexander Vogt, Mayor of the City of Halle (Saale), and Jan Büchner, Managing Director of the Future Center. Another exciting event is the 5th European Debate, which will take place on June 3, 2024 in the Leopoldina. This is all about the rise of populist parties in Europe. Experts like Prof. Dr. Paula Diehl from the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel and Prof. Reint Gropp from the Leibniz Institute for Economic Research Halle provide valuable insights into the topic. The aim here is to provide a comprehensive analysis of questions about how economic burdens contribute to the strengthening of populism.
The influence of globalization on prosperity, unemployment and wage inequality is particularly discussed.
