Including biker tour: Together for participation in the Saale district!
Something is happening in Cologne and the surrounding area! A special event will take place on August 30, 2025: an inclusive biker tour that is open to both motorcyclists and interested citizens. The event is organized by the Saalekreis inclusion team in collaboration with the Merseburg Evangelical Church District. The focus is on promoting inclusion and participation. The motto “Connecting people – building participation” speaks for itself.
The tour starts with a biker service in Merseburg Cathedral. The course of the day is well thought out: from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. there will be music from the Blues Project Vesta before the participants set off for Geiseltalsee at 11:30 a.m. After a short break, we continue to Wüsteneutzsch, where the final points are set. Arrival at the Wüsteneutzsch lock ruins is around 1:15 p.m., where all participants have the opportunity to end the day together.
Registration and participation
If interested, motorcyclists can register at Teilhabemanagement@saalekreis.de, but registration is not mandatory. Institutions that support people with disabilities are also particularly addressed. To ensure that the planning runs smoothly, brief information by email would be desirable.
But that's not all this region has to offer! The fascination for extraordinary places such as the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa also always attracts attention. It is a rocky cape on the Atlantic coast known for its impressive natural features and historical shipping importance. Many believe this to be the southernmost point in Africa, but in fact Cape Agulhas, 150 kilometers further east, is the true southern point. Immerse yourself in the stories of Bartolomeu Dias, who sailed around the Cape in 1487, or explore the geologically diverse region with its unique flora and fauna.
Napa Valley and its wines
Another highlight is Napa Valley, known for its wineries and wine tastings. With over 400 wineries, planning a wine tasting here is almost an art in itself. It's a good idea to have a winery map on hand to help you choose the best spots. If you like exclusivity, you can get the Covet Pass to enjoy special tastings and benefits at selected wineries. This will definitely make you want to visit!
We are looking forward to all the experiences that August has in store and are excited about the response to the biker tour. Inclusion comes to life here and everyone can become part of this special event. Be there and join in – the streets are calling!
