Intercultural Week in Stendal: Celebrate diversity from September 20th to 28th!
In just a few days the time has come: the Intercultural Week (IKW) in the Stendal district promises a colorful program from September 20th to 28th under the motto “for it!”. Patrick Puhlmann, the representative of the district office, invited everyone interested to the upcoming events in a recent announcement. Whether dance evenings, film screenings or workshops – there is something for everyone here. The opening will take place on September 20th from 1 p.m. at the city lake with a children's and family festival, which should appeal to many families right from the start.
But it's not just the opening festival that has a lot to offer. An intercultural city tour will start on September 22nd at 4:30 p.m., while an introductory course in sign language will be offered in the district administration's “Stendal Room” at 4 p.m. To round off the day, the documentary “Female Pleasure” will be shown in the Small Market Hall from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. A highlight of the week will be the volunteer meeting of the Altmark Volunteer Agency on September 24th, followed by a workshop on intercultural volunteering and a reading by Mariia Chykina with children's stories from Ukraine.
Diverse events
The Intercultural Week offers a total of 26 events within 14 days an excellent opportunity for all citizens to exchange ideas about different cultures. Among other things, there will be a children's and family festival on September 26th, followed by a dance event in the Wischelandhalle, where dances from different countries will be presented. There are also numerous exciting events in the Small Market Hall, including a “Musical World Tour” and culinary experiences.
