In the summer half of 2024, the state's campsites recorded around 240,094 guests, which corresponds to 11.5 percent of all arrivals to accommodation establishments. Since 2022, places like Magdeburg and the Elbe-Börde-Heide have been the new favorites of campers. Particularly noteworthy is the Halle, Saale and Unstrut region, which has recorded an increase of over 165 percent in overnight stays in the last ten years. This shows that people value relaxation in nature.
